Rail Fares Go Up

Fares at Hertford's two railway stations went up today, with an off-peak Travelcard now costing £17, up 9.4% from £16.

A standard all-day return to London is now £15.30, with off-peak returns now £11.10.
The average fare increase on National Express trains in the region is 5.8%, with the First Capital Connect average increase at 5.7%.
National Express will be replaced by Dutch train operator Abellio in February.
