Tree Stolen

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of a 15ft copper Birch Tree, which had been planted in Hartham Common, Hertford by friends of someone who had recently passed away.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 6.30pm on Monday, April 25 and 12pm on Tuesday, April 26.

The tree had been planted with the permission of the local council during March this year, in memory of a close friend. Friends of the person who passed away had recently visited the tree and ribbons and flowers had been laid around it.

Anyone who has information about the theft is asked to contact the Hertford Neighbourhood Team on the non-emergency number 0845 3300 222 citing crime reference number A1/11/1285.
