Mead Lane Vision Published
The District Council have published a draft Urban Development Framework for Mead Lane and the surrounding areas.

The area features some of the town's largest undeveloped brownfield sites but suffers from poor access and piecemeal planning. However, amenities are good with the railway station, Hartham Common and town centre nearby.
In recent years there has been an increasing amount of employment land to the east, whilst some residential development has taken place to the west, namely Elder Court and The Waterfront. A further 180 flats are planned for land west of Marshgate Drive.
The UDF comes after an initial consultation and draft plans last year and includes improvments to the transport infrastructure, streets and river corridor.
