Mayor's Wife Dies Suddenly

The wife of Mayor David Poole died suddenly in the early hours of this morning.

Joyce Poole accompanied her husband to the Mayor's Annual Charity Civic Dinner at the Riverside Garden Centre on Saturday and was also at last night's Theatre Week production at Castle Hall.

The Leader of Hertford Town Council, Cllr Dr Linda Radford said 'This is tremendously sad news. Joyce will be missed for her cheerfulness and her steadfast support for David as Mayor. Our thoughts at this time are with David, their children and grandchildren and we ask that everyone respect their privacy during this difficult time'.
