Tamworth Road Plans Revealed
Plans for 101 new homes to replace industrial buildings in Tamworth Road were revealed at a public exhibition in the town centre today (Saturday 24th November).

Rockwell Homes staged a pre-submission consultation on their emerging plans for the site, which includes 89 flats and 11 houses with parking for 134 vehicles. Affordable office space also features in the proposals.

The exhibition was well attended, with town, district and county councillors among those lining up to see the plans.
Representatives of developer Rockwell Homes and planning consultants Smith Jenkins were on hand to answer questions.

Feedback from the consultation will shape the final planning applicaton, which is expected to be submitted before the end of the year.
If planning permission is granted then building work could begin in Autumn 2019.

The site is currently occupied by a number of employers, including AFT Fluorotec, Deleba and IT Builder. The largest, Fluorotec, is believed to be relocating to Welwyn Garden City some time in 2019, whilst other tenants will be offered alternative accomodation in Mead Lane.
