Blakemore Woods and the new Blakemore Manor Estate occupy a site 1.8km from Hertford town centre. To the immediate north and north-east is the Sele Farm Estate. The site is bounded to the east by Thieves Lane with Sele School opposite.

The site was once a part of the Panshanger Estate. Until recently the field was used to grow crops, although the land is of low fertility and prone to drought.

The ancient woodland is protected and features a significant number of veteran trees.

The field to the immediate east of Blakemore Woods was originally oart of the Panshanger Estate and more recently used to grow crops.

Recently completed homes
Gateman Klinton Baptiste became famous for smiling and waving at passing motorists. When he was re-assigned to another site, a cardboard effigy was put in his place.
Blakemore Wood
Home To Nest. This sculpture by Charles Elliot was inveiled in July 2024. The Osprey is a large bird of prey that often visits the Osprey Lake in nearby Panshanger Park.
